(re)vo•li•tion
The revolutionary power to enact radical change in our lives and reclaim our personal agency.
We are the authors of our own stories.
Oftentimes our stories are dictated by others; our beliefs, values, and expectations are shaped by the world around us without our consent. We often lose sight of the depth of our innate capacity for change, becoming weighed down by real experiences of systemic oppression and cultural norms. ReVolition Therapy invites you to evaluate your beliefs, reclaim your power and tap into your intuitive voice.
ReVolition believes that everyone deserves access to compassionate and affirming therapy, and we are committed to supporting the unique journeys and challenges of our clients. ReVolition Therapy is dedicated to promoting mental health and empowering individuals to live their most authentic lives.
Our team of therapists has a deep understanding of the intersectional experiences that our clients encounter, including the impact of racism, ableism, heteronormativity, cissexism, and homophobia. We believe in fostering a non-judgmental environment where clients can freely express their thoughts, emotions, and identities.
FAQs
What services do you provide?
We provide in person and virtual therapy for individuals, couples/ relationships, and families.
What can I expect during my first session?
The first session is the intake session. You'll fill out forms ahead of time providing some of your history and current information, but we will want to hear from you what brings you to therapy. We will also review all the paperwork in the first session, so you understand our policies. It's more administrative and you sharing your story the first session, so then we can dive in and get to work in the future sessions.
What if I’m taking medication or need medication?
We cannot directly manage medication, but we can help you consider your options, monitor symptoms and side effects. We will initiate medication discussions and other services when it seems clinically appropriate to your treatment. We can also help guide you to the clinical services you require outside of our practice.
Do you have a waitlist?
We will run a waitlist if we cannot get you in within two weeks and you want to wait for a specific clinician. Otherwise, we will help you find another therapist in the community who meets your needs.
Where are your offices located?
We currently have an office in beautiful downtown Chicago, at 8 S. Michigan Ave, across from Cloud Gate (aka The Bean) in Millenium park. We are close to public transit, including the El Train and many busses. Parking downtown can be tricky, but there are several parking garages close to the office. Please ask if you need additional support in navigating your commute.
We are planning on adding a Northside office in 2024.
What are your fees?
For private pay clients, the initial intake session is $180 and each additional 60 minute session is $150. Limited sliding scale may be available. Please ask your clinician for more information.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept all credit cards (except Discover), HSAs, FSAs and Zelle.
Do you take insurance?
We accept Aetna, BlueCross and BlueShield, Anthem, Cigna and Evernorth, Optum, United Healthcare UHC | UBH, and several others under those umbrellas. We have a Billing Coordinator that will check your benefits *as a courtesy,* but verification of benefits is never a guarantee of payment with insurance companies, so it's always best to call them directly. We have guides to help you do that as well, so you know what to ask and get all the information you need.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy to respect the time of our therapists. Most of us can be contacted via phone, email and text to cancel - please ask your therapist the best method. Some of us will also allow a reschedule within the same week with no charge. Again, talk to your therapist for their policy.
